Hodler and Oprea Avi Com Launch Poultry Investment SA Joint Venture

Hodler has entered into a joint venture with Romanian poultry producer Oprea Avi Com, establishing Poultry Investment SA as a new integrated platform targeting the Romanian poultry market. The partnership combines Oprea Avi Com’s 25-year track record in broiler production with Hodler’s capital and regional investment experience, with a combined turnover target of over €70M and a workforce exceeding 700 employees by 2023.
The new entity brings together three companies across Satu-Mare, Mureș, and Brașov counties, covering the full poultry production chain: breeding farms, hatcheries, broiler raising facilities, and two slaughterhouses. The joint venture also incorporates the Puiul de Crăiești brand — an established Romanian chicken meat label with a growing range including ready-to-eat products.
Poultry Investment SA builds on two prior Hodler acquisitions in Romanian poultry: Avicod SA in Brașov County in July 2021, and the assets of the former Ave Impex operation in Satu-Mare in May 2022. The JV structure now unifies these assets with Oprea Avi Com’s integrated operations under a single ownership and management framework.
